We’ve been lead to believe that exfoliation can only be achieved through the means of products provided in the market or through skin care clinics. That’s not actually true; you can do a thorough cleansing session at home using ingredients found in the kitchen. In fact, here are some natural exfoliators you can use next time you want to rid yourself the layer of impurities.

Oatmeal is a great exfoliator for starters. Not only is it common but it’s also not too harsh on the skin. It’s great for individuals with sensitive skin since it doesn’t leave the skin dry right after. You’ll want to ground the oatmeal until fine and mix it with honey. Apply onto your face and leave it for 30 minutes before rinsing with warm water.

Lemon juice is great due to the acid it contains which can remove dead cells. Mix a quarter of lemon juice with some sugar until the sugar dissolves entirely. Dab the mixture with a cotton swab and leave it for at least 10 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

If you don’t have lemon juice, you can also mix sugar with oil such as jojoba oil, coconut oil and etc. Sugar is an ideal exfoliator, though a little hasher than oatmeal; using pure ones is ideal. Rub the mixture to your face using a circular motion and rinse afterwards.

Milk is not a surprising choice of an exfoliator. Milk contains lactic acid and acid helps in removing dead skin cells. Not only does it aid your skin in hydration, promoting a fairer appeal and lightening it, it also helps remove the layer of dead skin cells. Simply lather a good amount of milk on your skin or add up to 4 cups of milk to your bath.
